What is Flood Bar

A flood bar is a component to facilitate the smooth application of solder paste onto the PCB during the printing process. After the squeegee completes a stroke, the flood bar comes into action by dragging the excess solder paste back to the starting point. This motion is essential for setting up the subsequent stroke and does not involve any printing on the backstroke.

By redistributing the solder paste evenly across the screen, the flood bar ensures consistent and controlled paste deposition. This is vital for achieving accurate and high-quality PCB assembly. It minimizes defects such as solder bridging or insufficient solder paste deposition, which can negatively impact the functionality and reliability of the PCB.
