What is Image
In the PCB industry, an image refers to visual data that can be inserted onto documents to enhance their content or provide additional information. This visual data can be in various file formats, including BMP, JPEG, PNG, GIF, and TIFF. A PCB document must be open and active in 2D View to insert an image. The image insertion option can be accessed by navigating to the Home menu, then selecting Place, and finally Image.
When inserting an image, choosing one with a transparent background is recommended for the best quality. Certain types of images, such as barcodes and QR codes, may have noticeable white space, which automatically becomes transparent when opened in the PCB software.
Once an image is inserted, it can be manipulated in several ways. It can be rotated using the SPACE key for a counter-clockwise rotation of 90° or SHIFT+SPACE for a clockwise rotation of 90°. Additionally, the image can be flipped along the x-axis or y-axis using the X and Y keys, respectively.
