What is Double-Sided PCB

A double-sided PCB, also known as a 2-layer PCB, features conductive copper layers on both the top and bottom sides. Unlike single-sided PCBs, which have components and traces on only one side, double-sided PCBs allow for the mounting of conductive copper and components on both sides of the board. This feature enables the creation of more complex designs and circuits.

Double-sided PCBs have closer routing traces. This is achieved by utilizing vias, which are small holes drilled onto the board and filled or coated with metal.
